Purpose of the Position:   

To provide prevention, assessment, and remediation services for clients who have difficulties in the areas of language, speech, voice, and fluency.

Job Type:                 Part Time Contractor

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide speech, oral and written language, literacy, assessments and treatment to clients in our office
  • Design programming for clients and work with ABA clinical director to incorporate speech program into overall behavioral plan
  • Prepare periodic reports based on client progress and provide to BCBA-D and Clinical Directors and to parents
  • Supervises speech paraprofessionals and ABA clinicians (as appropriate or needed to ensure proper programming is being executed)
  • Conduct ongoing assessment and adjust intervention strategies based upon client performance
  • Promotes effective interpersonal relations with client
  • Attend client’s Individualized Education Program (IEP)  team meeting for school (as appropriate)
  • Provides consultation to parents, teacher and other appropriate school personnel (as needed)
  • Seeks the assistance of teachers, parents and others to meet the communication needs of client
  • Engages in continuing education and professional growth activities related to speech-language-hearing and education
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree required
  • Licensed speech and language pathologist in Maryland
  • Must be able to work between 9 AM to 6:30 PM Monday – Friday
  • Must have reliable transportation and willing to travel around the DC Metropolitan Area
  • Must be willing to sign a one year contract
  • Experience working with children on the autism spectrum beneficial
  • Experience working with typically developing children is useful
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be flexible, creative, and demonstrate strong organizational skills
  • Must be highly motivated and self-directed
  • Must be energetic and love working with children and families
